The Organizational Meeting of the Garfield Heights Board of Education will take place on Monday January 5, 2026 at 6PM at Garfield Heights Board of Education, 5640 Briarcliff Drive, Garfield Heights, OH 44125. The annual Tax Budget Hearing is scheduled as part of the agenda for the Organizational Meeting.

The Special Meeting/Worksession will be held directly after the Organizational concludes on January 5, 2026. This meeting will take place at the Garfield Heights Board of Education, 5640 Briarcliff Drive, Garfield Heights, OH 44125.

Congratulations to our very own Marcus Johnson, who was recently named a Greater Cleveland Sports Commission finalist for Male High School Athlete of the Year, presented by University Hospitals Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute. You can vote online until Jan. 9, 2026 to help him become the winner, which will be announced live at the 26th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards, on Feb. 5, 2026, at Rocket Arena.

Winterfest was a success!! Thank you to all the families that came to Maple Leaf this past Thursday evening!

Community Service students visited Elmwood Elementary to read to the 2nd grade classes. The younger kids loved the art projects and hearing the stories!

Happy Holidays from the GH Education Foundation. Now in its 5th year of operations, the non-profit Education Foundation wishes to thank all its supporters, donors and volunteers. Through giving of your time, treasures and talents, the Foundation has been able to award 14 scholarships to HS seniors, 25 classroom grants to extraordinary GH teachers and provide resources to students in the GH community over the past 4 years.

2026 promises to be an exciting year for the Education Foundation as it works to expand its assistance to students, staff and the students of the community. Beginning in January, 2026, the Education Foundation will be sending out regular updates to its supporters, donors, staff members, alumni and volunteers to increase their awareness of opportunities to assist the Education Foundation in expanding its support for students, teachers and community student activities. Stay tuned in early 2026 for exciting news on the upcoming 3rd Annual Education Foundation golf outing this summer. Happy Holidays!

This Saturday at Garfield heights High School the Student Council is hosting Breakfast with Santa!! For only $3 a person you can get a light breakfast, hear music and partake in activities and meet the Big Guy Himself!! We can't wait to see you there!!
