🌸 Spring Into Action – Community Resource Fair & Donation Drive 🌸

Join Garfield Heights City Schools on April 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Garfield Heights High School Cafeteria for a day of connection, support, and empowerment for our families and community.

This event will include:

Community resources
Recreation and youth programs
College and career readiness information
Wellness resources for families
Food trucks and local vendors
Movie: Zootopia 2
Line dancing
BINGO with prizes
Senior photos (by appointment)

Enjoy kid-friendly activities and get helpful information about employment, youth activities and community resources. Food and free entertainment. All are welcome!

This trip connects directly to our English 12 African American Literature course and our 4th quarter unit, “Black Contemporary Voices in Literature and Music.” 📚🎶

To kick things off, students selected one artist from the Harlem Renaissance and one Hip Hop artist, then explored how their music shaped culture and raised social awareness across generations.

Our 12th grade English class had an unforgettable experience at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum! 🎤✨

We participated in “The Birth of Hip Hop” education program, where we explored the cultural and social impact of hip hop artists and their music. From powerful storytelling to influencing generations, hip hop continues to shape the world in meaningful ways.

Garfield Heights High School would like to thank Dunkin' Donuts for sharing donuts and joy. They're even sharing more over spring break with our students.

Last weekend the High School hosted the 1st annual Easter Bunny Brunch!! Food, games, and a wonderful egg hunt rounded out the festivities!

A huge Thank You goes out to Ms. VanderNeut and her Community Service class!! They prepared 4,908 eggs for the easter season. The eggs were used in Easter Egg hunts for the High Schools Bunny Brunch and the City Egg Hunt! 🐰

Donuts for our hero! The Kiwanis Kiddos loved showing appreciation to Officer Lee for always supporting and protecting our school community.

GHHS Concert Band Earns High Ratings at OMEA Event

The Garfield Heights High School Concert Band recently showcased their hard work and dedication at the OMEA District 7 Large Group Adjudicated Event, held at Perry High School.

Their hard work paid off, earning an overall Excellent (II) rating, including a Superior rating from a floor judge and a Superior rating from the sight-reading judge.

Don't forget ~ Brunch with the Easter Bunny is this weekend!! It will be held in the HS cafeteria. We can't wait to see everyone! 🐰🐰

The Regular Meeting of the Garfield Heights Board of Education will take place on Monday March 16, 2026 at 6PM at Garfield Heights High School, 4900 Turney Rd, Garfield Heights, OH 44125.

This meeting will also hold the annual Roses for Teachers celebration.

Our Garfield Heights High School Band will be performing this Saturday at the OMEA District Adjudicated Event, and we would love to see our community there to cheer them on!

This Wednesday, please join the band in the PAC at 7pm as we celebrate Music in Our Schools Month!

The high concert band and jazz band will be performing a number of selections for your enjoyment and in preparation for the concert band's participation in this Saturday's Ohio Music Education Association District Adjudicated Event at Perry High School. They will also be doing a live sight read on stage!

Wednesday's concert in the PAC begins promptly at 7pm.
