Elmwood Elementary School’s newly formed Run Club will host its first ever Track Meet on Tuesday, May 12th at 10 a.m. at the new GHHS Track and Field, as a way for our very own Bulldogs to showcase their skills and compete against one another. A total of approximately 36 students have been participating in the run club at Elmwood during the early part of the spring in both 2nd and 3rd grade. This activity promotes physical fitness, goal setting, teamwork, and perseverance. Students apply skills they’ve practiced over two months while building confidence, sportsmanship, and a healthy lifestyle. Great job to all students who have begun the important process to become involved in extra-curricular activities. Special thanks to Shauntia Smith for launching the program, and who credits support from Kyle Renick, Candance Muetzel, and Sara Wickstrom during the process.
