Fitness, teamwork, and fun were on full display earlier this week as the Elmwood Run Club hosted its very first track and field event on the new athletic surface at Garfield Heights High School!
Originally created to encourage physical activity, teamwork, and positive use of students’ time, the Elmwood Run Club has quickly grown in popularity with nearly 40 second- and third-grade students participating. Their enthusiasm helped inspire this exciting event, which featured relay races including the 4x800 meters, 4x400 meters, and more.
Families were invited to attend the morning event on Tuesday, May 12, where parents proudly cheered on students and captured special moments throughout the day. A special shout-out goes to the GHHS track-and-field athletes who helped organize events and support participants during the competition.
Thank you to Shauntia Smith for launching the Run Club, along with the support of Kyle Renick, Candance Muetzel, Breanna Williams, and Security Officer Dorene Hamilton.
Great job to all of our young Bulldogs for their hard work, energy, and sportsmanship! 🐾
