Elmwood celebrates student achievements, builds confidence, and motivates students to continue working hard and attending school each and every day. Elmwood honored students for academic, behavior, and perfect attendance. Ms. Frimel and Dean Henley spoke about behavior expectations, Ms. Huncharek spoke about the importance of attendance and Miss Williams assisted with passing out awards. Elmwood celebrates with Thanksgiving BINGO! Our PBIS incentive is a reward used within the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework to reinforce and encourage positive student behavior. These incentives are typically points that students can earn to attend our school wide PBIS events. This is a way to promote a positive school climate and help students build social-emotional skills. A special shout out to Mrs. Gallagher. Enjoy a few pictures of our "Disguise a Turkey" and "Parade". Our students loved making these and putting them on display. Elmwood partners with Stay in the Game. SITG support school districts to increase student attendance, which is crucial for student success. The Elmwood Attendance Intervention team incentivized students with a movie, popcorn, and award for Staying in the Game. Elmwood also has other building initiatives to reward students for Staying in the Game and attending school on time each and every day. Elmwood recognized Red Ribbon Week 2025 on Monday October 27th thru Friday October 31st. (With a student spirit week). This year's theme was Life is a Puzzle Solve It Drug Free. Red Ribbon Week is a national campaign for raising awareness in the fight against drugs.

Elmwood recognizes PBIS students in September with a Fall Field Day. In elementary schools, PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support) is a proactive, school-wide approach to teaching and reinforcing expected social, emotional, and academic behaviors in all students. The goal is to create a positive school climate, foster student success, and reduce problem behaviors by clearly defining, teaching, encouraging, and acknowledging desired behaviors. At Elmwood we show PAWS by P=Prepared, A=Act Responsible, W=Work and Play Safe, And S=Show Respect!
September 18, 2025 Elmwood hosted the Cuyahoga county annual Father's Walk. This year our theme was "OUR DADS ARE SLAM DUNKS". Thank you to the Elmwood team and to all the father and/or father figures who shared in this special day.
William Foster kicked off the last week of school with the Kindergarten Celebration!! Our kindergarten students have worked hard all year and we can't wait to see what wonderful things 1st grade brings for them!!
Elmwood closed out the 24-25 school year with our 3rd grade clap-out, fine arts festival, student concert, awards ceremony, and field day! This year has been filled with exciting learning experiences and a whole lot of fun! Enjoy great moments each day over the summer break. Thank you for an amazing year Elmwood!
