On Wednesday, May 7th at 6pm all of the Middle School and High School bands of Garfield Heights will come together at the Garfield Heights High School to perform a Festival of Bands! For the first time in many years we are hosting a performance where you will get a taste of all bands from the 6th grade to the 12th in one evening.

A big round of applause is in order for Cara Miller, a talented student from Garfield Heights High School, who recently took home the top prize at the prestigious Stop the Hate poetry competition. Sponsored by the Maltz Museum, this competition celebrates the voices of young people committed to creating positive change and promoting acceptance in their communities.

2025 Honor Choir and Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus Honor Choir to Showcase Local Talent This Weekend

The weekend of April 5-6 promises an exciting celebration of choral excellence, with two major events featuring talented student musicians from across northeast Ohio. On Saturday, April 5, the 2025 Honor Choir will hold a one-day clinic, bringing together top choral students from around the region for a day of rehearsals under the guidance of renowned guest conductor Jason Max Ferdinand.

Students place 2nd in data science competition at 2025 Datapalooza on March 14th .

Congratulations to Imani Inkton, Dashaun Johnson, Ian Case, and Elizabeth Davis for earning 2nd place in
the data science competition at 2025 Datapalooza on March 14 th . The students were given two data sets
to choose from and selected one that explored the association between multiple factors and final exam
scores in a college class.

Marcus Johnson named Mr. Basketball for the state of Ohio.

Please join in congratulating Marcus Johnson on being named Mr. Basketball for the state of Ohio. This prestigious award is given to the top high school basketball player in the state, and Marcus has more than earned this honor with his outstanding performance on the court.
Marcus is only the second player in school history to receive this award with the first being his father, Sonny Johnson. Together, they make history as the first ever father-son duo to win Mr. Basketball in Ohio.

Boys Basketball State Semi-Finals vs. Louisville

After Friday nights 58-45 win over Akron Hoban in the regional championship our boys basketball team is now headed to the State Semi-Finals. They will take the court on Sunday, March 16th vs Louisville at 6:00pm at the Canton Memorial Field House as they continue their pursuit of a state championship.
