The Board of Education is holding a special meeting on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 6:00 PM at the above location for the purposes considering and voting upon a resolution to amend the contract of employment of the Treasurer/CFO. In addition, the Board will hold an executive session to consider the appointment and employment of public employees. After the executive session, the Board may proceed to approve the employment and/or compensation of public employees.
Upon request to the Treasurer, the District shall make reasonable accommodation for a disabled person to be able to participate in this activity.

The Regular Meeting of the Garfield Heights Board of Education will take place on Monday July 20, 2026 at 6PM at Garfield Heights Board of Education, 5640 Briarcliff Drive, Garfield Heights OH 44125.
Due to the air quality conditions, Garfield Heights City Schools will be closed on Thursday 7/16 and Friday 7/17. This includes the board office and all student activities. We will reopen Monday 7/20.

We continue to request your help now as the 3rd Annual Golf Outing of the GH Education Foundation is scheduled for Friday, July 31 at the Briarwood Golf Club in Broadview Heights. This annual golf outing is the largest fundraising event of the Education Foundation each year and we request your support through either being a golfer or sponsor at the event (see golf flyer below with QR Codes for golfer or sponsor registrations) or by making a donation through the Foundation’s GoFundMe QR Code (see below).
Because the Education Foundation is a 501(C)(3) non profit organization, donations are tax deductible.

The Garfield City School District has an unexpected Board of Education vacancy as of June 30, 2026. The Board is now accepting letters of interest as a potential board member from eligible residents who desire consideration to fill the vacancy through the completion of the unexpired term that ends December 31, 2027. Interested eligible residents must deliver a Letter of Interest and Qualifications as a potential Board Member addressed to Board Vice President Thandeka Cox c/o Treasurer Phillip Oko, 5640 Briarcliff Drive, Garfield Heights, OH 44125, before 12:00 p.m., June 15th, 2026, and be available for interview by Board of Education members during a special meeting held on June 22nd, 2026. The individual chosen to fill this vacancy will be appointed and sworn in during the Board’s Regular Meeting on July 20, 2026.
