Pet Supplies Plus "Brings the Zoo to You" at the Middle School
Ms. Porter asked the manager of Pet Supply Plus here in Garfield Heights if he and his employees could "Bring the Zoo to You" as a modified field trip to speak to the Phantom Team at the Garfield Heights Middle School. Ms. Porter and Ms. Chase broke up the two classrooms. Ms. Chase housed the "furry creatures," while Ms. Porter's classroom housed the snakes, reptiles, spiders, etc. The Pet Supply Plus employees taught the students about animal habitat and more. This was an "extension project" that went along with the students current work regarding research. It was such a great opportunity for the students to experience nature outside of their classrooms - while inside the classroom! Students were also able to pet some of the animals.
