Students in grades 9 - 12 at Garfield Heights High School recently participated in a highly and positively charged assembly to observe the awesome spirit, pride, and patriotism from the United States Navy's Fleet Forces Band- Four Star Edition, who visited the building as part of Navy Week! The performance included a blend of rock and hip-hop, that helped students and staff join in collective civic pride in America. During the day, members of the Fleet Forces Band also stopped by our High School Music Theory and Jazz Band Classes, to help instruct lessons and interact with the students. Garfield Heights High School was one of only two schools selected in Northeast Ohio to participate in this visitation, and is part of the building's effort to help students begin to think about their own respective future paths after graduation. Exposing students to highly regarded organizations such as this fun and multi-talented component of the U.S. Navy is part of this effort.
