Alumni Update - Jemima Ukwela - 2015 Graduate
Jemima is in her final year at Cleveland State University majoring in Health Sciences with a Pre-Occupational therapy track emphasis. Throughout her past three and a half years at CSU, she has had the opportunity to participate in research and present at conferences: NEOMED Scholars Day, the Family Medicine Education Consortium, and Choose Ohio First Scholars Day. During her freshmen year, Jemima and a group of her peers launched a health-affinity community project called G.A.T.H.E.R., which promotes bringing awareness to different disabilities and disorders through hands-on workshop experiences. The branch of G.A.T.H.E.R. Jemima coordinated was for autism spectrum disorder, because of her personal experiences working with individuals with ASD and her passion to work with this population as a future occupational therapist. Outside of academics organizations Jemima is also a part of CRU at CSU. CRU is a Christian ministry on campus that's devoted to community and also outreach; very much a mission-focused organization.
This Spring Jemima will be graduating with a Bachelors of Science, and will continue on to graduate school for a degree in Occupational Therapy.
