The first quarter of the 2021-2022 School year has been exciting and busy, and with benchmark testing complete, the students and staff have combined for a solid baseline to see where our building is in terms of competencies and knowing where we will focus the rest of the year. This academic progress, along with behavior expectations has remained firmly upheld through PAX and PBIS initiatives. William Foster joins the GHCS to promote the Stay in the Game program, where we encourage attendance when students are not under the weather. Keep in mind that two new clubs will be starting in November, and those are Girls who Code and the Robotics Club. Keep on the lookout for joining those new opportunities.
Thank you to the students for coming to school each and every day trying to do your best. The adjustment period to returning to in-person learning has been challenging, but successful. Thanks to the parents for sending your child to school with a mask daily and encouraging your sons and daughters. It makes a difference and shows! As the weather changes, please keep our students dressed for inclement temperatures and conditions. Please label hats, gloves, coats, and other items. Please also remember that the doors will not open until 7:55 a.m. and please make sure students aren’t arriving earlier than this. Thank you!
One important area of improvement for us all is improving behavior on the bus and at recess. Keep your hands and feet to yourself and listen to the expectations of adults. Those behavior adjustments will positively impact our performance in the classroom as well, so please be sure to keep current with assignments as well.
Finally, the teachers invite an open door with you to communicate regarding grades and work completions. Your help in encouraging PAWS expectations will go a long way as well.
Thank you all!
