On Monday December 11th Elmwood staff members celebrated the holiday's with a little sugar and a lot of cheer. Elmwood staff sparkled as we wore our ugly Christmas sweaters during our cookie celebration.
Elmwood's K-Club met on Wednesday December 6th and made holiday “CHEX MIX” and “HOLIDAY CARDS” for the GHFD. It was the Kiwanis students who came up with this idea to honor our service men and women of Garfield Heights. Giving to others helps our students gain confidence and value not only in themselves, but those around them. Happy Holiday’s to ALL from the Elmwood K-CLUB.

For the last several weeks students have been working on Elmwood's PAWS expectations in the hallway. Here we have our first grade students demonstrating hallway PAWS as they wait to go into the lunchroom.
Students at Elmwood recently participated in the November PAWS Bingo Party. The students had so much fun and the winners of each round won great prizes. ?
Students at Elmwood recently participated in the Principals Reading Challenge. They were given a book to read that corresponded with our monthly character education as well as matching activities. The students were very proud of their projects.

Recently some students at Elmwood participated in a Bubble gum chewing contest sponsored by our PBIS BLT. The girls had so much fun participating in this rewarding activity.
Random Acts of Kindness
During the month of November, we learned about and modeled the character trait of gratitude and giving back. Our students were able to help make scarves and decorate gift bags, which will be given to patients at Akron Children’s Hospital. I am very proud of the hard work and effort our students put in to brightening the holiday season for other children who may not be able to go home for Christmas. Thought I'd share something positive! :-)
