LEGAL NOTICE
Sealed bids for the Garfield Heights City Schools, Garfield Heights High School Stadium, Concessions and Restroom Building project will be received by the Garfield Heights City Schools – at the Board of Education Offices, located at 5640 Briarcliff Drive, Garfield Heights, OH 44125 until 1:00 PM, Prevailing Legal Time, Friday, January 31st, 2025 and will be read publicly and recorded immediately thereafter.
The proposed work consists of the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to build a three seasons building at the Garfield Heights High School Stadium.
Sealed bids shall be addressed to Phillip J. Oko, Treasurer/CFO, 5640 Briarcliff Drive, Garfield Heights, OH 44125, and be clearly marked as “BID FOR: Garfield Heights High School Stadium, Concessions and Restroom Building” The responsibility for timely and appropriate bid submission rests solely with each bidder. Sealed bids submitted by mail must be certified or registered with return receipt requested. Sealed bids received after the above appointed date and time will not be accepted or opened.
A pre-bid meeting shall take place on January 16th, 2025 at 1:00pm at Garfield Heights High School Stadium, 4900 Turney Road, Garfield Heights, OH 44125
The Contract Documents, including copies of the Drawings, Project Manual, Proposal Form, Forms of Contract and Bond, are on file and may be examined at the Office of ThenDesign Architecture, Ltd., 4230 River Street, Willoughby, OH 44094.
Copies of complete sets of Contract Documents may be obtained from the Architect upon request and deposit of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for one set or can be purchased direct from a plan room or print shop. If, obtained from the Architect and within ten (10) days after the time set for receipt of bids, the documents are returned in good condition, deposits of those bidders, who submit sealed bids by the deadline, will be fully refunded for one complete set of the documents. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty or Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid or a certified check, cashier’s check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid. All such bid guaranties and contract bonds must comply in all respects with applicable Ohio law for public school construction projects. Bid guaranties and contract bonds accompanying rejected bids will be returned upon award of the contract.
All bids shall be submitted on special blank forms furnished by the Architect, and shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond conforming to Section 153.571 of the Ohio Revised Code.
Subject to the rights to reject any or all bids, the Garfield Heights City Schools Board of Education will award the contract for the Work to the bidder that is determined to be responsible and who submits the lowest responsive bid in accordance with Section 9.312 of the Ohio Revised Code, taking into consideration accepted alternates, if any.
All submitted bids must comply in all respects with the requirements set forth in this Legal Notice, the Instructions to Bidders, Specifications and other bid documents. A bid will be considered nonresponsive if it fails to comply in all respects with this Legal Notice, the Instructions to Bidders, Specifications, and other bid documents and requirements. No Bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of sixty (60) days from the date of the opening of the sealed bids. The Garfield Heights City Schools Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
