GHHS Fibers II Class Learns Needle Felting

Here are some pictures of students in Ms. Fox's Fibers II class working on 3-dimensional needle felting. They are using roving wool and needles to felt a unit of objects together that create a theme. They are able to incorporate both 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional shapes within their mobile. A few of the themes being worked on are fruit, Finding Dory, the 2018 Winter Olympics, sports, The Little Mermaid, and animals. This also includes Mrs. Mayausky's One-Eyed Cat, which Ms. Fox had to start all over again! Students started out their semester learning a few simple hand stitches to sew felt together, along with the needle felting, to create pouches to hold their art work while in progress. This is one of the new classes added to the Art Department and requires students to pass Fibers I as a prerequisite.
