Empty Bowls Fundraiser
On Thursday, April 25, 2019 The members of the Maple Leaf Elementary School Kiwanis K-Kids volunteered at the 5th Annual Empty Bowl Event. The "Souper Bowls For Hunger" fundraising event is an international project to fight hunger in local communities. Community members had an opportunity to support this great cause by purchasing a ticket for only $10.00! The meal consisted of soup, salad, bread and a beverage. The first 200 supporters received a handcrafted ceramic bowl designed by the Art Students of Garfield Heights High School. This bowl was a visual reminder of food insecurity with in the Garfield Heights Community. All proceeds from the event benefit the Garfield Heights Food Pantries!
