The third marking period is well-underway, and as we approach the last quarter of the 2017-2018 school year, I congratulate the students on their hard work in the classroom and with the PBIS initiative. Finish the school year strong! During the next few months, William Foster will be bustling with activity. Our annual Literacy Night will take place on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, as the culmination to a variety of lessons that revolve around reading skills. Every student received a book entitled: The One and Only Ivan, courtesy of our PTA, and we encourage families to use this resource at home to practice every night for at least 20 minutes. Please note that the last week of March and the second week of April will feature our Muffins for Moms events as well.
The winter season is still not over, so please ensure that students are dressed for the weather. As temperatures warm, students will be going outside for recess, so make sure they are dressed appropriately. Mr. Neluna’s daily weather forecast for students should help to give you important information as well.
Testing season is right around the corner, and please reinforce the importance of this with your children. Please try to promote a good night’s sleep, healthy breakfasts and a generally positive attitude during testing week. Parents and families play a vital role in this process.
Finally, important daily information can always be found by accessing our Facebook page, checking out Mr. Neluna’s updates and reading our weekly Principal’s Notes. With any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.
