As of October 1, 2017, only students who have new applications on file for the Free or Reduced Price Lunch Program will receive those meals. Applications are available in your school's office, or you can apply online on the secure website: www.LunchApplication.com. Student IDs and grade levels are required to complete the application process.
The Garfield Heights City Schools is committed to offering healthy meals every school day to students. Breakfast costs $1.40 (Grades K-5) and $1.70 (Grades 6-12); lunch costs $2.50 (Grades K-5) and $2.75(Grades 6-12). Reduced price for breakfast is $.30 (Grades K-12) and lunch is $.40 (Grades K-12).
All of our cafeterias use a point of sale system which allows students to pre-pay for their lunches. Students may pay for their meals on a daily basis; however, we highly recommend parents use our district’s online payment system, SPS EzPay, as a convenient and secure way to add money to a student’s pre-paid lunch account.
Our school district participates in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program. Participation in this program makes it possible for students who are unable to pay full price for lunch and breakfast to apply for free or reduced priced meals.
Applications to determine eligibility for this program will be distributed to all students on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 15, 2017. You may also obtain a copy of the meals application by clicking on the link below.
If you feel your child(ren) may qualify, please complete the application. Please read the application instructions. Applications with incomplete information will be denied. Only one application needs to be completed per household. Applications may be returned to the child(ren)’s school or at the Board of Education Offices. Once a household application is processed and eligibility has been determined, the household will be notified by mail as to the status of the application.
If your household is new to our school district, please be aware that until your household receives written notice of free or reduced eligibility from our Treasurer’s Office, full price will be charged for each lunch and breakfast.
If your household received free or reduced priced meals last year, your household will continue to receive free or reduced priced meals until September 30, 2017. If an updated household application is not received by that date, your household will revert to paid status on October 1, 2017.
